More than 70 players from The Bridge SC enjoyed football at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna
"We try to ensure that all our players have the opportunity to come to Spain so that they have the opportunity to enjoy training and playing here." This is how Iván Beroiz, Director of The Bridge SC Riyadh, explains the purpose of the project during the days here at the Ciutat Esportiva de Paterna.
Based in Saudi Arabia, VCF Academy is its technical partner and this connection has been strengthened for a third year during an excellent week. The Bridge has U13, U15 and U17 teams, with both male and female representation.
In fact, this year was the first in which the academy brought its U15 women’s team to enjoy this wonderful experience, in collaboration with a local club called Inpro Sport. As a result of its commitment to women’s football, they also took part in the U14 Players Draft in both categories.
"This year we are very happy because we had the possibility of bringing all our categories, including the girls, as you mentioned, as the first experience in this tour that we organise for them."
"We have a very clear objective for next year, which is to build a complete structure for the girls. We consider that girls should have the same opportunities as boys, to have the same experience as our boys. This season has been the first step towards that, and we are very excited to have the possibility of building the complete programme for our girls."
For a year and a half now, the connection with The Bridge SC Saudi Arabia has been consolidated. In fact, this is the year in which they have brought the most players to this Spanish Tour, during which they carry out training sessions at the Ciutat Esportiva VCF with Valencia CF coaches, play friendly matches against VCF Schools and enjoy Valencia by visiting both Mestalla and the rest of our city.
"This year we are very happy because we have managed to travel with five teams and more than 70 players, divided into all these groups. This is the year in which we have the most participants with us. This is very important for the academy because it shows the benefit of what we get by coming here every summer."
"The main benefits for us on this tour, or for our players, are the possibility of training and playing at a higher level than what we normally have in our daily base in Riyadh. And also because it gives our players the opportunity to become more independent, to grow personally and to meet people from all over the world. We consider that it is very interesting at a sporting level, but also at a personal level for our players."
Since this summer, The Bridge SC Saudi Arabia also has new, much larger and more modern facilities in the capital and largest city of the country: Riyadh.
Specifically at Amaria Football Fields, where from August 20th to 22nd there will be a technical visit by VCF Academy staff and scouting sessions for both boys and girls, making a significant contribution to the development of women’s football in the Arab country.
